Don't like my Recaro Convertible Seat.....
Installed it a few days ago, have been using it and will likely be returning it. While its incredibly sturdy and without a doubt safe, I feel like its abnormally "high up" and its a major pain in the a$$ to get DD in and out (it's rear-facing). I have to lift her up so much to get her in it that I've actually bumped her head on the car ceiling twice. Same with getting her out. I have a Nissan Rogue SUV. I have a few friends with smaller cars that love it and don't have the issue of getting in and out but the actual seat of their car is much lower.
Now looking into the Chicco Nextfit or the Diono Radian RXT. Any thoughts/input?!?! Thanks, everyone! Greatly appreciated!

Don't like my Recaro Convertible Seat.....
I had the same issue with my Graco convertible when I moved from a civic to a minivan. I bumped her head on the ceiling constantly. Thankfully she was over two so I just turned her FF. My second will move to a convertible soon so I don't know if I'll have that issue again and need a new seat for her. Let me know if you find one that works better.

It's more the fact that you're in a suv than the car seat. I have an suv too and use a britax advocate and I've bumped her head a couple times getting her in and out.

I think this may be the problem, too, though I'm not familiar with a Recaro. It was harder to get DS into his car seat rear facing, but now that he's forward facing and can climb in himself, it's not bad. We have the Murano so it's probably similar to your car. That being said, if you don't like the car seat, definitely exchange it for something you like. We have a Britax Marathon.

Don't like my Recaro Convertible Seat.....
I like the Nextfit a lot. We have 2. That being said I think it maybe the car. When I had my Accord, I kept bumping DS's head. Now I have a Subaru Outback that is higher and I don't.

Can you see pit of the back/ side window? I have the pinnacle booster in the same SUV you have. I can not see. It blocks half the back window and the side window. I can't stand it , it's dangerous, and don't know if it's the SUV or the seat

I have the Diono Radian RXT and like it a lot. Especially that its so narrow compared to other car seats.
The only issue I did have while rear facing is that it forced the front passenger seat forward so much that it was unusable.
We had to buy a Diono seat adjuster which fixed the issue for us, but we are also short so we don't need that much leg room. If we were taller I don't think the seat adjuster would have helped much.
My only advice is go to a baby store like buy buy baby and ask them to put the car seats you are interested in, in your car so you can see if they fit right.

You'll likely have the same problem with the next fit due to the high sides. We used one for a few weeks and it was such a pain to get DD in. Diono has low sides so it should be easier. I'd go to BRU or BBB and test them out.

Recaro Child Safety has recalled ProRIDE child restraints (manufactured from April 9, 2010, through June 9, 2015) and Performance RIDE child restraints (manufactured from January 15, 2013, through June 9, 2015). The top tether anchorage may detach from the child restraint increasing the risk of injury to the child in the event of a crash.
