Coxsackie virus

Dd has Coxsackie virus. The pediatrician said she is contagious until all of her blisters scab but she can shed the virus for up to a month. How do I approach this? If she is shedding the virus she is technically contagious if someone comes in contact the infected fluids- I do not want any of our friends or family to catch it but I can't imagine keeping her away from everyone for another three weeks. It is bad enough my neighbor's daughter caught the virus from dd before she had any symptoms. How have btdt moms handled this?

I've never ever heard that before. My DD had it a few years ago, was sick for about 3 days, then was back at my MIL being watched with 3 other kids...nobody else caught it.

I read it can stay in their stool for a month or more but I'm not sure any other ways they can spread it for that long. I was just diligent with hand washing, etc.

My DD had it last year. She was allowed to return to daycare once the fever broke and if she had no open blisters. She missed only a couple of days from what I remember. I figured if she was allowed back to daycare, I was ok to bring her around other people. We were very diligent about handwashing, especially after diaper changes.
