remember how i complained that my office manager wasn't carrying his weight in the office and everything he is responsible for was landing on my desk. and when i pushed back a little, i always got the reply, "it's ok. just do it tomorrow."

well, the owner of the company came in this morning MUCH earlier than usual. he started asking question about how the office is run. he then made a comment that lead me to believe that the office manager will no longer be needed.

long story short, the office manager is no more. he walked in at 8:59am (his day is to start an 9am, and he's NEVER on time. he's usually 30-40 minutes late.
the boss man closed the door to the office and then the office manager walked out, with lunch box in hand. he didn't make eye contact with me and he just let himself out.

everyone knew the guy was sitting there ******** and moaning about the job, had his feet up on his desk, and was giving his work to other people to do. we just all felt that the owner wasn't seeing it because the work was getting accomplished on time.

guess he's been in business longer than i've been alive because he knows a thing or two and he pays attention. he might have just been giving the guy enough rope to hang himself. this is the last time i under-estimate my boss.
