Recommendation for weekly or monthly rental at hotel out east

My parents just moved to Florida and are really missing the summer here. They want to rent out east at a motel (where they were living before moving). They are fine with a little motel in towns east of Riverhead. They want to start looking now. I know this is crazy to ask this now this summer, but I want to start researching something. They will stay with us but then head out for a few weeks somewhere out east and then come stay with us again before heading back to Fla. The summer was too long and hot for them. Is there anything reasonable?

I'm just thinking that if it's for more than a week, maybe renting a condo might be cheaper?
Motels can get pricey out east in the summer and it adds up.
Just a thought.

I would look on VRBO - lots of houses that rent for cheaper than motels out here and you would be able to go and visit and stay with them maybe.
