Update - Date night w/ Hubby
Yesterday was DH & my anniversary. This Saturday, my mom will be watching DS so we can go have a nice night out. We were thinking of heading to Huntington to make a night of it (since we don't want to head to NYC). Would love some recommendations for a nice restaurant where we won't feel rushed (if that's possible) and perhaps a lounge after (if that exists there). If not in Huntington, maybe RVC? I know, last minute, but our plans changed as of last night.
And of course another change of plans.. DH wants to stay more local, why I have no flipping clue, but whatever. Has anyone been to Sage Bistro in Bellmore?

Swallow in Huntington - small plates that you can share. DH took me for my birthday and it was a great meal and we were not rushed at all.

Prime in Huntington - hands down!!!
On the water, amazing food, gorgeous atmosphere.
My go-to special dinner place!
I took my boyfriend there for his birthday and we went out recently to celebrate my promotion at work... Both times, crowded like a normal Saturday night and we were there for hours - talking and holding hands drinking wine at the table after we had finished dinner, not rushed at all. We went over to the fire pit after and had an after dinner drink too.

Happy Anniversary! Sage Bistro is very yummy!! Small and nice, not sure if they take reservations though

Sage Bistro is really nice if you like french. Good food. as far as I know they don't take reservations unless you're a large party.
In RVC they have another restaurant from the same owners Aperitif, which is really good as well, they do take reservations and they have regular and small plates. There is another one in Oceanside Bistro Persil which is good too, not as "cool" as Aperitif.
I love the hot bread they come around with!
Another good local option (assuming you're local to sage) is Snaps in Wantagh. It has some really good stuff. They cook a lot with Truffle oil, which my wife is allergic to, so we stopped going, but it sure tasted good

We had a DELICIOUS dinner at Sage Bistro tonight. Best we've had in a long time. Very happy. Thanks all!
