When to potty train?
I know all kids are different, but I just wanted to get an idea of when everyone started. DD is 23 months, but I don't think she is quite there yet. Problem is that I go back to work in a few weeks, so now would be a good time for me, not so sure for her

Re: When to potty train?
DD is almost 32 months, and we just did the 3 day method this past weekend. She caught on really quickly, and today, day 4, we were able to go out without any accidents.

Re: When to potty train?
My dd is 30 months and we did a modified 3 day, and she was trained by day 2. I read a great book, oh crap potty training, and she claims that anytime 20-30 months is great.

Re: When to potty train?
We are in the midst of the 3 day now and DD is 27 months. My cousin potty trained her DD at 21 months. I would say between 2 1/2 and 3 1/2 is relatively normal

Re: When to potty train?
My dd is just starting to train herself. We just followed her lead. She will be 3 in nov
Her twin brother is nowhere near ready And I will wait for his cues the way I did with her

Re: When to potty train?
Thanks everyone. I'm just freaking out about this potty business for some reason. I feel like it's going to be a lot of work and I think DD is almost ready, but not yet. I don't want to be so stressed with work and going through potty training at the same time, but I guess I have to wait until she's ready.

Re: When to potty train?
DS #1 and 2 - were 3.5 - he was ready so it was pretty simple. We tried earlier but it wasn't right for him
DS #3 - is 23 months now and I don't think he is quite ready

Re: When to potty train?
I did 26 & then 22 months. I think earlier worked better, but it may have been the personality of the kid. Did it as soon as the kid was able to say "pee pee" and pointed to the potty/toilet with association. My sister did her child even earlier (around 18 months!!!) & it worked!
We both used a modification of the 3 day method.

When to potty train?
My personal opinion... Wait until she is ready. Don't rush it based on your schedule. Do it based on her. If shes not fully ready it will cause you unnecessary stress and headache. My daughter was fully ready 1 month before she turned 3. I never rushed her. When she initially showed interest I supported it by buying a potty, panties and introducing it to her. We tried when she was 2.5 but she cried and cried for her diapers so I stopped. from time to time I put panties on her dolls and we talked about it. I offered her incentive... She was DYING for some dolls I told her when she was ready for the potty she could have them. About 2-3 weeks after that she wanted to wear panties and we never looked back. Everytime she went pee pee she got 2 candies and for poop 4 candies. For everyday she went without diapers she got a doll until she got the whole collection she wanted LOL
It depends on the child but don't get hung up on age or your schedule. Do it when you think shes really ready. That's my personal advice.
