An elder fighting DMV about license being taken away
I have a family member in Fla who was in an accident months ago. DMV is trying to take his license away. He is 79 and had a somewhat panic attack type of memory loss thing with the accident. He is in great shape and no way near the point of needing to stop driving. Doctors said this may never happen to him again. Doctor wrote a note he was capable of driving, as DMV asked and he took some test voluntarily that said he could drive. Was told it would be over. Now DMV wants him to take a driving test and told him to bring someone as he may not be able to drive home. They said he may suffer a seizure or stroke but there is nothing in the records to indicate this. Should he obtain attorney? This is in Fla. They are talking about moving if this happens. I am not sure if losing license over this would follow in another state.
