Air Conditioner + Humidifier?

Does anyone run a humidifier during the summer months while the AC runs in your child's room? DD has been waking up with mini coughing fits and dry lips, which I can't help but think is because she's sleeping 8-9 hours in a room with AC and the air must be dry. I have one of the cool-mist humidifiers I could run, so it's not like it would warm the room and defeat using the AC. Thoughts? Does anyone run one with AC?

I would guess, living on Long Island, that a lack of humidity is ever a problem, even with air conditioning. I don't find air conditioning to be very drying. My husband is a nut about humidity so we bought this at Amazon.. humidty gauge

Might be worth checking out, because if it's not a humidity problem it could be something you need to go to the Dr. for?

Re: Air Conditioner + Humidifier?

I absolutely feel dry with the AC on.

That is actually it's function- not only to cool the air, but to suck the humidity out. If you have a window unit and go outside and look under it you will see water- it's the water it is sucking from the air in your house.

My house never feels humid when the AC is on.

Definitely run the humidifier with it.

My sinuses have been KILLING me these past few days with all the AC
