BF to Bottles

I am currently BF on demand and starting to pump so I can give bottles. It has been a disaster! She drinks way to fast from the bottles and gets so gassy. I am using Dr. Brown's bottles and switched to a preemie nipple.

Advice please!!!

When we first started bottles I would burp him every 1/2-1 ounce he ate. That helped him with the gas and used the slow flow nipple.

DD also sucked the bottles down too and I hat the hardest time getting a good supply. Chat Icon She only used the slowest flow nipple. As PP said, trying burping in between ounces to pace the bottle a little.

Have you tried switching bottles? Dr. Browns is a great bottle but doesn't necessarily work for every baby. It didn't for our DS. Try switching. We use the Lansinoh which I thought was a great transition for BF babies.

Maybe try a a new bottle. I like the Playtex with the drop in. Or the Medela Calma which is suppose to mimic the flow of a breast. Also, sit her upright when you feed, it makes a big difference with gas and burp after every ounce.

Lansinoh mOmma and Playtex Nurser with Drop Ins & NaturaLatch nipple worked for us. Also, look up paced feeding. You can watch video on youtube.

Im going through the same thing and its terrible! I just ordered MAM bottles on amazon. With my first born, the drop ins were the best except they leaked- a lot! The Momma ones were also good but i didnt like how they didnt attach to the Medela parts.
