Dutch Wonderland or Sesame?
Which is better for a 3.5 year old and 15 month old? Can either be done as a day trip or would we have to stay overnight ? Any recommendations for hotel? Thanks so much!
ETA: Are both parks geared toward the same age group or is one more geared toward yonger kids than the other?

Dutch Wonderland or Sesame?
I am in the minority, but I say Sesame. Much closer than DW so you can do in a day trip. I think the park is a perfect size for one day. The park feels much more themed to me than DW. They have the character meals (the DW character meal was terrible), shows and parades that are much better than DW.

My 2 1/2 year old son loves Sesame Place. It can definitely be done as a day trip. I would recommend doing the Lunch with Elmo if you go to Sesame. It is a great way to meet a lot of characters without having to wait on lines!

We love Sesame and prefer it to DW. We always drive up the night before so kid(s) can sleep in the car and we can get started in the morning and then we drive back that night. But its possible to drive up morning of, park doesn't open until 10 unless you do a character breakfast.

Dutch Wonderland or Sesame?
Haven't been to dutch but dd loves sesame. We do a day trip and liked going really early to get there for the character breakfast which gets you into the rides a half hour early. We do a long break in the picnic area with a packed lunch and nap, more rides, then watch the last parade and stay till closing. It's a long day but gave us plenty of time to do all the rides and water areas we wanted at least once and the break for lunch makes it doable for us.

we did dutch with our almost 3 yo last month. it is not a day trip imo. it takes about 3 hours to get there. we stayed a few days in lacaster. we are going to sesame soon and are making a day trip out of it. we made it a day trip last year too. its only about 2 hours away or a little less. its also a lot smaller in regards to the rides for their age. I think we left around 4pm last time and we were done
ETA: if you stay overnight for Dutch, try to stay at the Best Western Eden Resort. Its a really nice hotel and they have an amazing pool and sprinkler area for the kids!! You could spend a day just there.

We preferred Dutch Wonderland, and do it as an overnight trip --- there are a ton of inexpensive chain hotels nearby. We went to Sesame Place twice and found it way too crowded, with no shade on the lines, so everyone was just hot and uncomfortable.
