Matron of Honor

Hi ladies,

My best friend was my MOH at my wedding 6 years ago. She is now getting married and her sister and I are her MOHs. My question to you is.... when I got married, she was a big part of my husband and my life. She was there when we met, when we got engaged, we hung out all the time. She made me some very personal photo frames and scrap books of my husband and I. She did a lot for me for my shower. But...I hardly know her fiance. We don't hang out really. I have a 2 yr old and they really hang out with his friends. I don't have any photos of them, etc. I want to do something special for her for the shower since she was so good to me. Any suggestions? I really don't know what to do.

Thanks =)

You don't have to do the same thing she did and still make it personal. Do something just about her or your friendship.
Where are they going on their honeymoon? You can do a honeymoon theme gift? Put in personalized towels or robes in a basket with a album, lingerie, personalized tote bags, etc
My best friend made me a personalized book when DH and I got married. I LOVED it and still do. There are personal stories, pictures and recipes in it. We were roommates right before I got married. She moved away to Chicago and met her DH there. I didn't know him as well so for her wedding I did a "bride" theme. Got her white "bride" panties, her wedding hanger (had Mrs. XXX on it and she loved it and used it the day of her wedding for her gown), personalized hoody and a very sweet note about our friendship in it.
For my SIL I had a caricature picture made up of the two of them along with a basket with bride/groom stuff in it like the His and Her luggage tags, bride and groom rubber ducks, a personalized wedding frame, etc.

Thank you so much for your reply. You have some great ideas! I ordered the personalized hanger and bride panties as soon as I read your post. I appreciate it! =)

Re: Matron of Honor

If you can get a sitter (I know it can be hard) maybe go out to dinner with them so you can get to know him

Also I have been to showers where hey made a basket for the hubby to be which was cute

You can have maybe a robe made for her for when she's getting ready or even the emergency bag for the big day with bobby pins. Hair spray etc

And don't forget as long as you are there for her that day and with the planning,that's all she needs

My friend framed my wedding invitation in shadow box frame, it's still one of my favorite gifts.
I make scrapbook albums for bridal showers a lot, I use the STD and/shower invite and then I make pages that the photos from the shower can be added to- like the bow hat, gifts, the cake, bride to be and family, etc. I take pics at the shower to fill every page then give them to the bride to be.
