Say something or mind my own business?
MYOB. Its a different story if it were a close friend or family member, but being a friend of a friend, I think it overstepping.

I personally wouldn't say anything.

Re: Say something or mind my own business?
I'm going to offer some contrarian advice. As a pediatrician myself, if I see something that needs to be "checked out" I'll make a comment in a discreet, non-threatening way.
i.e. if the kid has quirky behaviors. I'd casually say, it could just be quirkiness but maybe you want to ask your pediatrician if it could be something more. I had this experience with my kid, etc, etc
As you said, early identification is important so a quick conversation from you may help this kid get services earlier. I'll risk an uncomfortable conversation to help a kid out.
