closet doors in nursery
im redoing the guest bedroom into our nursery. currently it has full glass sliding doors in the closet and i would like to change them to bi fold doors.
i love the light that the mirrored doors bring to the room, because it's not that big.. but mirrored doors in a kids room is just asking for handprints all the time right lol?
theres just nowhere else to incorporate mirrors. unless they make doors with just mirrored tops?
thoughts?

I can't answer that, but I think so long as you keep the bifold doors a light color, you really won't lose the extra light that you get from the mirror. I'd be more worried about young kids breaking the mirror over the handprints... I mean, it's their nursery, so who's going to see the handprints? KWIM?

I can't answer that, but I think so long as you keep the bifold doors a light color, you really won't lose the extra light that you get from the mirror. I don't have bi fold doors, but are they lockable? I would be worried that a kids hand can get caught in the fold or a hinge.

A mirrored door in a nursery would scare me. One big smash and shattered pieces of glass everywhere. I wouldn't do it

We have bifold doors in DD's room and yes, she got her hand pinched in it once.
She was older- like 3 or 4 - and was trying to close it herself.
I HATE those doors for that reason

We removed the doors for my DD's room (5) and it will also be shared with our new DD coming.
We decided to put pretty curtains up and frame the opening out for now. Figured much easier with kids...I can't tell you how many times between my 3 kids the closet doors are the first things to be falling off the hinges with them.

hmm.. curtains could be really awesome. i could use tie backs for when i need it open, which i could leave open most of the time anyway.

We have sliding doors in DD1's room and a regular door in DD2's closet.
Mirrors are too fragile and cleaning them will become your career; bi-folds invite little fingers to get stuck.
