How far in advance did you book?

I know this has been posted in the past. but any recommendations are appreciated. I'm on the S Shore of Western Nassau if that makes any difference.

Re: Newborn Photographer

I am using Amy Halpin Photography, she is a vendor on here. I know another LIF'er who used her and her pics came out adorable... I would prob book at least a few months in advance since many photographer's schedules book up quickly.

Re: Newborn Photographer

depending on who you use the sooner the better because the popular ones book up quickly.

with that said I find it really hard to recommend a photographer. I feel everybody has their opinion on what's good and how much they are willing to spend on pictures. while some rather spend less and find those picture great others will feel you have to spend a good amount of money to get great pictures. Also while some feel they don't need the whole CD of pictures some want that.

I think your best bet is to figure out how much you want to spend on pictures and go from there on finding one.

Re: Newborn Photographer

Book as soon as you know you want to use a certain photographer. That way they can hold a spot for you. I sometimes have last minute openings depending on if booked babies are born early/late but no guarantees. I've had to turn away people who inquired but never officially booked who contacted me after baby arrived and I have no room. :(

Re: Newborn Photographer

I found someone maybe around 6 months pregnant, or earlier just so I knew I didn't have to look anymore. I didn't actually reserve the date until each child was born since you can't plan when you'll have the baby.

If you're looking for someone, I'd highly recommend Ali Blake photography. She will come to your house.
