Kids party entertainment - Help!

I am having my son's second birthday party. We have kids ranging from 2 years old to 10/11 years old. It's a backyard party.

For entertainment would you:

Bounce house with a slide

or

Character and Party motivator with face painting, tattoos and dancing?

My gut is saying to go with the bounce house - but I wanted to get some other opinions.

Bounce house... idk what it is about those things but kids love them... you can always make a playlist and do dancing yourself. Get blow up toys, etc from party city and i dont think you need much more than that.

Bounce house hands down. Not all kids like characters and I think the bounce house is more entertaining for a longer period of time.

It would depend on how many little ones vs older ones for me. 2 year olds in a bounce house with 10 year olds will not work well.

Outdoor Bounce houses make me nervous and I'm usually pretty lax.

I personally hate bounce houses, especially with kids so varied in age. I wouldn't let my 2 yr old in a bounce house with a 10 yr old, it's an accident waiting to happen. Plus in the summer, those things get hot as h-e-l-l to the touch! I would go with the character, face painting, and dancing............no question.

We just had a 2 year old party. The bounce house was a huge hit. We got the smallest one with the slide. which was perfect for my 2 year old daughter. Not too big and easy for her to do. My friends with the older kids were not invited to the 2 year old party this time. I just let them know it was for the little guys this time. Ages for the party were 1-7 years. I did have 2 cousins who were invited that were 10 but they stayed out of the bounce house and played some other outdoor games I set up. I let them jump in the bounce house after the littles ones were out. I used Bippidi Boppidi Bouncers if your interested, they are on Facebook. Get the smallest bounce house so your 2 year old can climb up for the slide.

I picked other because I agree that a 10 year old and 2 year old can not be in the bounce house at the same time. It's bad enough with a bunch of 4 years old in it by themselves. So unless you are going to make sure someone is watch it the whole time and just having age groups switch in and off I might skip it.

face/arm/hand painting can also cause drama. First waiting on line is isn't exactly fun and little ones that have patience for it. Second with it being hot out it can start to run or if it's on a hand and they wash their hands it comes off which equals crying kids.

Temporary tattoos I am a fan of cause they last.

Do they make small water bounce slides is so maybe consider that since its one person at a time or even just a bounce slide no house because then its one person at a time.
