Re: First birthday?
We had it at a restaurant. There was no way I was fitting 60 people in my house. For the next one I may look into having it at a park.

Re: First birthday?
At 1 year old, the kids has no clue what is happening, so you can do it anywhere for yourself (restaurant, etc.).

Re: First birthday?
I didn't really care to make a huge deal out of her first birthday since she was too little to enjoy or remember it. Mine was all adults too with maybe just a couple kids who ranged between 6 & 11. We decided to rent out part of a bowling alley. It was a lot of fun since the adults AND kids could do that, and also hang with each other & DD. DD was able to people watch and walk around and that was pretty much ALL she was into at that age. haha. Then we did food and a cake. It was nice. With my next one I may do something similar. I like the parties where both kids and adults can be entertained rather than it just catering to one, especially since 1 yr olds can't really do much yet except be there and look cute.

Re: First birthday?
My DD birthday was at the clubhouse in my grandma's condo complex. I cooked all of the food myself.
My DS birthday was at our house. I had it around 11am and I had a huge buffet brunch, I cooked everything myself.

Re: First birthday?
Ds1 we did a bbq at our house. Ds2 we did at the melting pot which was excellent. And people appreciated something other than your standard Italian food.

I had DD's first birthday at a restaurant.. we had about quite a few people and there was no way I could have cooked with a baby in the house. Her party was also a week after Sandy..
