How many ounces of formula......
Did your DD/DS drink per feeding at around 6 weeks? (if you remember!)

How many ounces of formula......
2.5 every 3 hours.
ETA: or 3. I forgot when we bumped up to 3.

Yes, this. DS was probably drinking 2.5-3 oz at that age.

How many ounces of formula......
By 6 weeks, when DS got formula and not breast fed, he got 6 oz. But please don't go by me, DS is a hungry boy. He wouldn't always eat that, but we had to make it because some days he would eat 6oz and others he'd only eat 4. Our ped told us from day 1 that if he finishes a bottle make 1/2 oz more for subsequent bottles, the idea is to let the baby decide when they are done eating, not you, so you want to have a little left over when they are done. At 6 days old he was downing 2oz at the doctor's office and that's why the doctor said that.
ETA: this was every 3 hours, too. Except at night, when he would go about 6 hours between feedings at 6 weeks.

Thank you for posting this! I was starting to feel bad -- DD is a hungry, hungry girl -- she drinks 5.5 ounces of formula every 3-4 hours! She was chugging those 2oz hospital bottles on day 2 in the hospital with no problem! We've slowly increased her formula since then and she's been on 5.5 for a while and usually takes a slightly larger bottle for her last one of the night before she goes down for bed.

Don't feel bad! If she's hungrt let her eat! Don't compare her to others every baby is different. I came home from the hospital eating six ounce bottles lol.

Don't feel bad - feed her! With our first child, the peds told me I was overfeeding him. I stressed and had anxiety about how to cut down on how much I fed him...but he was hungry! Today he's a healthy 2 year old and very lean - not at all overweight.
Now we have a 4 week old DD. I keep track of how often I feed her, but not how much she actually eats each day so I don't stress about it. At 4 weeks, I'm offering her 4 oz per bottle.

absolutely FEED HER!!! LOL. Our pediatrician was VERY adamant about that, if he finishes a bottle, give him more at the next bottle, let the baby decide when they are full... and believe you me, DS does. Once he's done, he turns away, purses his lips and won't let you even try - does this with solids too. DS is still on the low end of the percentile for weight, though he looks like a bruiser and is tall.
