People Amaze me...
I work in a bank..today a woman came in with her DD and was filling out her deposit slip. She mumbled something, looked at the child and said stay here I'll be right back. She then left the kid standing in our lobby alone while she ran out to her car to presumably get the item to deposit.(The child was completely out of her sight mind you, not that it makes ot any better). She was gone maybe a minute or so. The child stood there staring at me with big eyes. When the Mom came back in I asked her point blank how old that child was and she 2 and a half...2 AND A HALF and you leave them unattended in a busy bank lobby...WTF!!! I just said Wow, its not too safe to leave a toddler unattended. She dismissed me completely and walked out letting the kid trail after her out into the parking lot. I just can't with people...

I know, those kinds of things horrify me too because sadly this world is NOT safe to trust our kids alone in. Anything can happen in those moments your back is turned. My DD is 4 now and I'm still always telling her "If you can't see me, I can't see you. And that's not safe." When it's not your own child, however, I'm not sure what we can do except hope for the kid's safety and the mom's vigilance. I probably would have said the same as you and hope she wouldn't see if as judgmental, but actual concern.

People Amaze me...
I agree it makes me sick.
Now that my 3yr olds are in nursery school, I can't begin to tell you how many times a day I see moms leave there kid in car while they run inside to drop another child off or pick up a child. I get that it's hard when there is more then one, but also makes me crazy.

I actually went to the bank today and there was a little boy maybe 5 sitting on the floor near the door way out of sight of any adult he could have been with and I just shook my head thinking how stupid the parent must be.
Plus this is a bank that has been robbed more then once!

Terrible!!!!!
I saw 2 things like this recently. First at Target, a dad said to his little kid maybe 4 years old, "meet me in the food section when you're done" & left his kid alone in the toy section!!! DH & I were shocked!! I kept my eye on him & watched from afar to make sure he made it safely to his dad... we were saying though how it would have been so easy for someone to have just taken that child & walked out of the store in 2 seconds. That dad is nuts!
The other one was at Panera, I was sitting at my table & I look over & see a mom sitting with her daughter who was at most 3 years old sitting in the high chair... a few minutes later I look up & the mom is gone... I made eye contact with another woman sitting near me & we were both uncomfortable about it so I kept my eye on the girl until the mom came back & it was a while... a good 5 minutes at least ... she had gone to the bathroom, then went on line to buy something else & left her little daughter at the table out of her sight for that long!
People have NO sense & they are so lucky nobody with bad intentions crossed their path.

It was distressing...We have two entrances in our branch and the child could have easily taken off through one or been snatched..I just don't get why you would leave your kid alone anywhere. People are sick in this world and it only takes a second...

It was distressing...We have two entrances in our branch and the child could have easily taken off through one or been snatched..I just don't get why you would leave your kid alone anywhere. People are sick in this world and it only takes a second...
