If the ground is not 1000000% level, it will not fill up properly.

My bf built a wood perimeter 3-4 inches high. He fills and levels this with sand and then sets the pool up.

So easy to put up. lay out flat, put hose in to fill, hook up filter, add chemicals and you are done. Took a few hrs to fill and takes a few days for the water to warm up.

But I will warn you it ruins the grass in that spot.

Re: pool question

We have this one from Intex.

Super easy to put up, easy to maintain and perfect for DS who is 4 . DD loves it as well but one of us has to go in since she is too small still. With DS he can stand in it and we can watch him from the lounge chairs.

I got ours for $89 a few weeks ago at Walmart, I also recommend the pool cover (from Amazon was $14). It will help keep the water clean.

We just run the filter everyday for 3-4 hours, the cartridge for the filter clogs easily though - they are suppose to last a few weeks each, but we end up changing them every 3 days or so. I think its because we use it a lot. Its not a top of the line filter. So we bought a case of them for $30...they should last us through at least the middle of the summer.

We just use a floater to keep cholorine tabs in (about 4-5 depending on how many people used the pool), and we skim out as much dirt as we can while we are in it and before/after use.

This weekend, there were 6 adults and 4 children in and out of it. It was so worth the money. We'll eventually get a bigger one once the kids get older - for now we prefer the smaller one.

We had the blow up one and the first day we set it up, our cat was curious and jumped up on her front paws to see inside - she punctured a hole in it. We tried to patch it, but the next day it deflated and all the water was running down the driveway. The one we have now is much sturdier and bigger even though it was the same size. The water is what keeps it up, so If you don't fill it enough it will start to fall down.

Also, the ground HAS to be leveled. Otherwise, the water will all pool to one side, making it uneven and causing it to break.

We have this one.....14' x42"

We have an 8 and 10 year old and they LOVE it.....This is our second season with it and I am very happy with it. It has held up well and the kids do play rough with their friends jumping in and out.
We tried to level the ground and it still wasn't perfect, but as it fills up you can see where it is leaning towards and we used different size bricks/stones under some of the columns to keep it level. We run the filter a few hours a day and hose down the filter cartridge every 1-2 days to get a longer life from it. Also have a floater with chemicals and do a shock treatment every 2 weeks......

We have the other one up in the thread. I never leveled the ground. Its pretty level but I'm sure not perfect and never had an issue. This one might be different because we don;t have the plastic tubes for support.

You won't regret it!

We were in it all weekend. Usually we are looking for things to do. Now we love that we can hang out in the backyard, relax, listen to music and not spend $ to be doing something to pass the time.

The first time we put the pool up (the inflatable one) we set it up on a patch of concrete that we don't use a lot. We purchased a cheap outdoor rug to put under it to protect the bottom liner from any rocks etc.

DH started to fill it up and noticed the slope of water on one side. Sure enough the concrete slopes down away from the house almost 3 inches on one side for obvious water reasons.

So we had to empty what was filled and move it onto the grass - just take a level and measure the area to ensure no big slope. The grass was not perfectly leveled (maybe an inch off) but it has leveled out now that its filled and been sitting there.
