Can someone how me out with a price estimate?

I realize that the price could vary based on a number of factors. I'm just looking for a ballpark.

About how much do you think it would cost to rent a VFW for 4-5 hours and provide dinner and alcohol to the guests? We would be doing some finger food appetizers and then several dishes for dinner. I would say about 75% of the crowd is made up of party people, so we would need a decent amount of alcohol. I'm thinking about 100 people.

Again, I know it would vary, I'm just looking for a ballpark...$10000? $2000? $5000? $7000?

I'd say at least $3000. Do you provide your own alcohol or is there a bar at the vfw?

It really depends on the VFW and their package. Not all of them allow you to BYOB. Some want you to use their food. Some include beverage packages.

Are you looking at just VFW or any sort of halls you can rent? KofC, American Legion, Elks Lodge?
I had my engagement party booked at a Legion for $29pp which included max 95 people - caterer on premises - 29pp full bar, 5 hot, 3 cold (1 cheese, 1 veg, salad), beer wine sode 27 pp 18% gratituty -- 200 cash deposit holds room and locks date, linens for table, bring own dessert 4 hours, no tape on wall, hooks, balloons, 1 hr before
