pee on mattress?

this is the first time my daughter peed on my mattress. she was napping in my bed and didnt have a pull up on. she did it in her sleep so we didnt realize quick enough and it did soak into the mattress. i tried to absorb it with a towel but am i supposed to do anything else to clean it? it didnt really smell but i mean it was wet. just not sure what im supposed to do about it, or do i just leave the mattress alone now?

Re: pee on mattress?

When my grandson did this, I put baking soda on it to absorb the moisture.

After a few hours I just swept (you can use a vacuum, but I didn't have one) it off and put some baby powder over it for any smell.

Worked great.

Re: pee on mattress?

I've used this and it works so well...

soak it up with a paper towel.

Mix 1 part vinegar and 1 part dish soap together and soak the area (like really soak it up). Let it sit for about 30 mins.

Soak up the mixture that you put on the mattress and cover with baking soda... don't be shy, really cover the area with baking soda.

Let the BS sit for several hours and vacuum it up (shop vac works best).

It totally works!!! Takes the smell and stain out.
