Orthodontist recs/laser gum surgery??
Anyone here ever undergo laser gum surgery? My orthodonstic told me the other day I should get surgery to fix my mild periodontal disease..My gum pockets are all in the 4-6 mm range, with most in the 4-5mm range in my rear molars. Wondering if I need to get a 2nd opinion or if I should bite the bullet and get this surgery?
I have had deep scaling done 2x every year for the past 5 years which has reduced some of my 6mm pockets down to 4mm but none are under 3mm anymore.

I never had that particular type of gum surgery, but years ago had some very nasty gum surgery (they basically said I didn't have "enough" gum material in some parts of my mouth so they removed gum skin from other areas and re-attached it where it was needed - fun!) Dr. Howard Popper in Melville did the surgery. Not sure if he is still even practicing, but I have heard commercials for the Popper Dental Group on the radio. I would highly recommend him, if he does what you need
