If you called to have your Motorola monitor replaced...

How should I go about this?

I've used our Motorola video monitor for 18 months and out of nowhere on Tuesday, it stopped charging. Forget about holding a charge, it literally would not respond to the plug whatsoever and charge. We bought a replacement plug to see if that was the problem and to no avail, because it doesn't work either.

So it's the monitor.

We paid $300 for this darn thing (with the dual cameras) and I really expected it to go a little further than a year and a half. So when I call Motorola, how should I go about it to have them send me a replacement for free? I just need the monitor, not the cameras....

Any advice is appreciated!

I did and they suck. It's a one year warranty from the day it was bought. So if you had a shower and got it months before the baby was even here you're screwed. No exceptions.

We had the same problem about two months ago after about 21 months of use. But I bought a replacement cord on Amazon, a brand that was specially recommended by the oh so helpful Motorola customer service rep. thankfully it worked and it wasn't the monitor.

Not sure what cord you bought, but I can give you the name of ours. Worth a shot bc you're other option is buying a new monitor. They have the worst customer service!

Try returning it! On Friday night, I turned on the monitor and the picture was warped! We tried unplugging and shutting off and re plugging etc. and nothing. We called Saturday morning and they're only open M-F and Monday was a holiday. DH decided to try to return it to BRU where it was from and they took it and gave us $271 for it! I'm pretty sure it was only $199 when it was bought back in January 2014. We then used the store credit to buy a new one!

Did you have the box or literally just walked in with the monitor and camera?

We are having issues with ours too...we brought it to an applicance service place but they wanted $65 to fix it... Motorola will replace it for $90 with an upgraded model ...we haven't done it yet bc we still have picture but no volume....we would have to send ours in first and wait to get the new one and I can't imagine not having the monitor so I'm waiting till it fully goes out and then sending it in.

I returned one once... I don't remember the details, but here we go, and monitor #2 is a piece of crap. No better. Less than a year, too! I'm so upset because I love the monitor but it has such issues

I called them about a year ago and they told me to buy a battery on Amazon... They would not budge and send me one! It was only 12 dollars, so I just bought it myself, but it fixed everything and it works and holds the charge well.. Actually going stronger than the original battery inside the monitor.

Do you think you just need a new battery?

Ours also stopped holding a charge, so we called Motorola to complain and they sent us a new battery. It's much better now.

Motorola has sent me a new one 3 times the last time was the newest upgraded model out. It was a little after the year warranty (for the first replacement ). Mine just kept losing signal and beeping every 5 secs. And had to be plugged in or wouldn't work. It's worth a shot to call and see.

We've had ours replaced 3 times as well. First sound, then the wire stopped working, then sound again. Each time they replaced it for us with us just calling. The first time was well after a year and I explained that I got it as a shower gift.

Thanks for all the replies! I'll def make the call. I'm expecting #2 in a few months and was looking forward to this being one less purchase I had to make with our newest addition so when it conked out I was so bummed. Plus my awesome sleeper has been having a few rough nights and I've been wishing I could watch him on the monitor instead of wondering if he's sitting, standing, throwing things, laying down, etc. Fingers crossed!
