How much would you pay
a babysitter/Mother's helper for watching an infant and a toddler? I will be in the house pretty much at all times doing work from my office or run out quickly to run an errand now and then. I will have lunch and snacks already prepared in advance, she is only need to play, entertain and watch the kids. 4-6 hours a week tops. What's a fair hourly rate now a days? TIA

How much would you pay
I'd probably offer around $12-15 per hour since you have 2 kids.

Re: How much would you pay
I did this in college (10 years ago!) for a family...I made $20 an hour for 1 child...since its for a short amount of time per week, I would expect to pay more than I would for a full day babysitter, and I know my SIL is paying her daily babysitter $10 an hour. I'm sure many will disagree, but I would think it would be at least $15 an hour.

You were getting paid a VERY generous fee. I don't get paid much more per hour as an office manager for a medical practice. I think j $15/hour would be on the high end.

I agree...but I would still expect to pay more than I would to a daily babysitter...if she was a high school student, I could see $10-12, but I think the fact that she is a college junior means she will probably expect more...not saying she has to offer it, but I would expect her to ask for more.
