TIDE FREE AND CLEAR
DH bought so much of this detergent. I was wondering if anyone had an issue using it with a newborn? I used dreft in the very beginning with my DD and DS, but since I have so much of tide free and clear I might as well use this instead of buying something else.
I use it all the time for DD who is 5 , DS who is 3 and myself and DH with no issue, but wondering if I should be concerned using it with a newborn as I want to start washing some baby items to prep.

Re: TIDE FREE AND CLEAR
It should be fine. Pretty much any free and clear detergent should be ok for newborns. Besides, if you're washing your clothes in it and holding baby, it'll get on him/her anyway.

TIDE FREE AND CLEAR
Yeah, never used Dreft, only used Tide Free & Clear (or All, or any of the other free & clear).
ETA: Tide F&C is what we used for Ds when he was a newborn, and he was 4 weeks premie.

Re: TIDE FREE AND CLEAR
To be honest you should use a Free and Clear over a Dreft. Dreft contains colors and scents- which can be bad for a baby's sensitive skin. It is no different than regular laundry detergent- and i never understood why it was marketed as for babies.
Any ped or derm will tell you that you should go with a Free and Clear. (I used whatever brand was on sale)
The scent and color in Dreft is not good

I NEVER used Dreft with my kids. I've always used All Free and Clear, it's cheap and works great. My kids NEVER had an issue.

Re: TIDE FREE AND CLEAR
I used Tide F&C when my babies were newborns and still do. I agree that Dreft smells too strong and is probably worse for newborns due to the fragrance.
