Constipated?
Not sure if I can say DS (7/5 mths) is constipated bc his IS going 2-3 times a day. However, he is struggling and pushing hard to go. I haven't changed anything in his diet. He has 2 meals a day .. for breakfast I was doing 1 tablespoon of yogurt with fruits ... like pears/cantaloupe/papaya/mango and for lunch I was going 1/2 oz of a meat like chicken or turkey with a veggie like zuchinni, avocado, sweet potato or carrots. Since he's been struggling I have cut out the yogurt and meats but that hasn't helped.
We've been giving him prune juice and water in between meals. He drinks breastmilk if that makes any difference.
Does anyone have any suggestions? My Ped recommended a probiotic - though, from what I understand this is to help them go - which isn't our issue.

Re: Constipated?
Are you breastfeeding or pumping? I only ask about that because with breastfeeding it's hard to tell how much he's actually drinking.
Are his poops hard? I think that since he's going, it doesn't means he's constipated. He's getting it out at least. It's possible he's not getting enough fluids.
I gave my son prune juice when he had issues, but that was usually when he was backed up and wasn't going at all.
I did not try probiotics with my kids, so I don't know if that will help. But other moms on here have, so maybe they can comment. I'm surprised your Ped suggested it at a young age though.

We give him milk in a bottle since I work FT. I would say he drinks between 4-5 oz three times a day while I am at work.
His poop is pretty hard. I just think it's so weird that he is going 2-3 times a day but still struggling to go.
I haven't bought any probiotic yet. I don't even know where to get it besides Amazon. I checked Babies R Us and they didn't have any.
