Sleep Regression
DD is 20 months and she was always a wonderful sleeper since birth. Never gave me a problem putting her down or in the middle of the night. For the past 2 1/2 weeks she has been waking up in the middle of the night screaming crying. once she stops and starts falling back to sleep she will wake up instantly if she hears us sneaking out of the room and will start crying all over again. This can go on for close to 2 hrs. Last night was the first time she did it when I was putting her down for the night, which she hasn't done during this whole time. She was crying for 1hr 15 mins and then finally fell asleep and I basically had to float out of the room so she wouldn't hear the creaking in the wood floors. I looked up sleep regression and it sounds like it's what she is going through. Has anyone experienced this and please tell me she will go back to being a good sleeper!!

Re: Sleep Regression
Around that age DS started crying for bedtime, too. We just told him it was time to sleep and left the room. He cried, but we didn't go back in unless we thought something was wrong. Within a couple of weeks he went back to going to bed easily. I think if you're constantly going into her room, then she knows she can cry and get attention. You probably have to just do CIO.
