Anyone have a sono at 7 weeks vs 8?

And under the care of an OB not RE, how did you ask or get to go sooner? I am having one at 5 weeks to verify location of gestational sac since I have a history of ectopics but he said no more till 8 weeks. However I am still a nervous wreck and want to ask to come sooner or I can I to on of those ultrasound places for $69.

I did with #1 because they went off my LMP even though I had long cycles. They thought I was over 8 weeks but I knew I was only 7.

Honestly, one week isn't going to make a difference and I'd just wait til 8 weeks. And I definitely wouldn't pay to have one done if you're just going to have one the following week.

I went at 6w3d because I have a history of early loss, after that I didn't go back for a sono until 11w (because I had bleeding) and then had my 12 week sono. At 10w I went for a check and she did the doppler.

I had one at 7 weeks only bc I was spotting though and was super nervous.. so I went to the ER (knowing they couldn't do much if i was miscarrying) but I had a history of miscarriage so I just needed to know everything was okay

If you're going at 5 weeks, I'd just wait til 8 weeks. Either way, your next won't be until 12 weeks so wouldn't you rather only have 4 week not 5 until that one?

Also, the u/s places won't do a medical u/s. They do gender or 3D. I don't know of any that would do one at 7 weeks.

Yeah I know a place that will take you at 7 weeks, I have a few friends that have gone there. I am in NC.

Anyway my dr pushed for 8 weeks and the appt is made. We may go sooner to the other place but not sure yet.

Last time with my daughter I saw a specialist till 7 weeks but I had sonos at 5, 7, 9, 12 weeks.

Did he say no more until at least 8 weeks like he'll notice if you make the appointment for a week earlier? Docs always say come back in X number of weeks but the appointment I end up with could be the week before or after.
Also, do you know the sono after that? Maybe you want to wait til 8 weeks so there is less of a wait for the next one.

ETA- I had one where I measured 7 weeks, but I thought I was further along.

Re: Anyone have a sono at 7 weeks vs 8?

I was just in this predicament. I had severe abdominal pain at 5 weeks and they couldnt rule out ectopic because it was still so early. I had another scan at 5.5 weeks where they found the sac.. then brought me back at 7 weeks to confirm pregnancy. We saw baby and heartbeat. I would ask to be brought back earlier. It's what you feel comfortable with! Chat Icon

It's very normal not to go til at least 8 weeks. With this pregnancy, I couldn't get in for an appointment til 10 weeks! It's rough but it goes by.
