Potty training, stage fright?
DD is 3 in a few weeks and not trained. She has excellent control (too good- holds it for hours when she wants to), tells us when she goes, etc. She has been fully against using the potty for a while so I haven't pushed it. Last night she finally told me before she peed and was willing to sit on the potty. She sat for 10 minutes at least and nothing came out. She was upset and said she was trying but they wouldn't come out. Same thing happened a few months back and I think she gets frustrated by that. Anyone go through something similar or have advice? I'll admit I have trouble going in a public bathroom if it's too quiet and other people are in there so maybe she gets it from me but I don't know how to help her get passed it.

I had dd play with a cup of water while she sat. Or if she was on the big potty I turned the tub water on or the sink. It worked like a charm! I only had to do that for a few days and she got over it.

Thank you for this. She definitely enjoyed playing with the water and I thought it might do the trick but no luck.
I'd love to hear other suggestions if anyone has any. She's more willing to try lately so I'd love to jump on the chance but she just can't seem to release.

Potty training, stage fright?
Yes run the faucet! I am in the middle of potty training my dd. she gets a chocolate chip for going and she lives for chocolate chips. I give her lots of water and tell her waters makes the pee pee and poopies come. The other night she's sitting in the potty drinking water! We sing songs, she watches me go and we obsessively talk about her potty trained friends and cousins. Also she's in a crib soon and I've told her when she doesn't need pull ups she gets a big girl bed. She wants one so bad now.
Also I've found when we are home to go pantless is best. Even undies feels like a diaper but fully naked maybe them more aware.
I've also heard these suggestions. Buy character undies whoever is her favorite. Say princess undies. Then buy plain white ones. Put her in princess and make a huge deal over it and how she can't pee on the princess. If she does put white ones on her and say sorry you can't pee on the princesses.
Also buy rubber pants/undies. Then when they pee there is no fabric to absorb fluid and it feels gross.
After every accident make her clean it up to the best of her ability. I make my dd take off her own undies even though it's a struggle.
Good luck! It's so hard and annoying.
