10 month old day care food ?

My DS is almost 10 months old. He still takes 3 bottles a day. 1 in the morning, then around 11, and then 3. He goes to daycare full time. He also eats a breakfast, cereal and fruit, and a lunch, usually mashed vegetables and fruit on the side. Dinner is at home.

What are you sending your 10/11 month olds to eat at daycare? I feel like my son eats the same stuff everyday. He eats finger foods and table foods easily but I still sent in mostly puree (chunky puree) for meals so he doesn't make too much of a mess. I think he's ready to move on from those foods.

I'd like to get the rid of one of the bottles, probably the 11am one. I'm just worried he may miss it. Or that daycare will think he'll upset over it. I don't think it'll be too big of a deal, but it's hard because I'm not there to see how he'll react.

10 month old day care food ?

I more or less send the same thing every day. I feel bad, but then I think I pack myself the same lunch everyday too.

DS is 11, almost 12 months. For breakfast, I send oatmeal and berries (blackberries, strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries). For lunch, I send a yogurt pouch and a banana. I'm going to start to venture out and send other foods starting next week. For a snack, I send veggies (cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers) and cheese.

I add variety at dinner and over the weekend.

ETA: DS is EBF. He will no longer take a bottle so he has been drinking BM from a cup since he was 8 months old. He drinks 4-8 ounces a day at daycare and then nurses 3-4 times a day.

I never sent DD in with food bc at that point, she was eating most table foods. Occasionally I would send in a jar or some yogurt.

Personally I wouldn't drop a bottle bc that should still be their main source of nutrition until they're 1.

Yeah I didn't drop any bottles until 12 months.

You can do oatmeal, bananas, blackberries, blueberries, cheerios, raspberries, strawberries, yogurt mixed with fruit. Carrots, corn, anything small and chopped like that.

what is he eating for dinner? I would send in leftovers of that. Especially now before they are picky eaters lol. I wouldn't drop a bottle just yet unless you think he is really ready. dd2 was super easy to get rid of bottles and I think we were down to 2 by 11/12, (before a year), but she's home with me so I know she wasn't hungry. I would send in protein and veggies cut super small. The day care should also be helping you and guiding you on what and when other kids are eating

I wouldn't take away a bottle.

My 10 month old still takes all her bottles but eats everything I give her. I plan on offering the same amount of bottles at least until 1.

I send her to my mom's every day. She likes- bagels, pancakes, french toast, watermelon, cantalope, honey dew, strawberries, yogurt, bananas, cucumbers, chicken nuggets, applesauce, english muffins, cherrios, cheese, crackers, meatballs, greek yogurt. I pretty much just let her try everything and so far she likes everything (except eggs).

DD was eating table food long before she got any teeth. Even steak! She only got teeth 3 & 4 in the past 2 weeks at 13m old and she eats pretty much everything. There's a huge difference between gagging and choking. She gags sometimes and it's a bit nerve wracking but I can just tell she's not choking. She'll either swallow what she's gagging on or throw it up. It's important not to panic bc that can make baby panic and could possibly lead to choking. I just watch her and in a couple of seconds, she's ok. They have to learn sometime. Teeth or lack thereof don't mean anything!

Try mum mums too - they melt in the baby's mouth and they gum them which is great for teething

Yes they do not need teeth to chew. Teeth are needed to break down tough food. But if it's already soft it is okay. Chewing involves more of the motion of the jaw. It's for oral motor development to give them more textured food to eat. I give my DS soft chicken for example. He loves it. They may gag if they are not usee to the texture.

Thanks for the comments. I was hung up on him eating the same foods but I guess it's okay. I do the same thing. I'll see about the bottle. I might just start giving him less milk in one of the bottles.
