Food after puree's...
DS is almost 8 months. He's been having different kinds of purees for the last two months or so - gradually I've been making them a bit chunkier and he's been doing great. He also gets yogurt, cereal, baby quinoa, and then the purees are veggies and fruits.
I want to start introducing him to more things - but am not a big fan of pureeing meats.
Looking to see what others started giving their babies as an idea to gradually give him more textures, etc.

Lightly mashed avocado and bananas Pastina, tubettini Poached chicken shredded and cut into small bits Anything in chicken soup mashed up Meatballs mashed up Scrambled eggs (ask dr - mine does not believe in waiting but some do) Cheerios soaked in formula
I never puréed meat - made me sick to think about!

At 8 months, I just started giving him table food - pretty much anything we were eating.

Any table food. They don't need teeth to chew. They gum everything. You can give pieces of chicken meatballs cut up fruits and veggies.

Yup this. We didn't even start with purees. Just straight up whole foods. DD didn't have teeth until 10m and after that, only 2 teeth until last week. She's 13m.

ITA! They definitely do not need teeth. DS is 11.5 months and still has no teeth. He is able to eat pretty much everything.

Re: Food after puree's...
So when you guys say table food - do you just take whatever you're having for dinner and either mash it up or cut it into small pieces for them?

Yup. I never mashed table food....IMO if you are going to mash it you might as well just stick with purees. I did cut up into small pieces and made sure things were softer in the beginning.
Breakfast was always the easiest to start with for me since waffles, toast and fruits all tend to be softer.
Pasta at dinner and little pieces of chicken or meatballs. My DS first favorite meat was lamb from a Gyro we were eating and that's all he would eat as meats go for a bit there.
I also cut up slices of deli turkey and cheese.

Yeap, exactly what I was eating, def no need to mash anything, like another poster said, they don't really need teeth to eat, those gums are pretty powerful, plus they're gonna absolute love all the different flavors from a meal.
