Summer Mommies

For those of you that delivered in the summer what did your LO wear home from the hospital?

I ordered a Ralph Lauren Kimono forChat Icon which is long sleeved and we just got it yesterday. DH thinks it may be too hot, but I think it's perfect.

What did you put on yours?

TIA

Summer Mommies

Dd1 was born end of June and left the hospital July 1. She was in a long sleeve, long pants light cotton outfit. Keep in mind the car, hospital, house will all have the ac on

He had on "jeans", a onesie and a baby Jean jacket that went with the outfit. It was fine because we had the AC on. This time, I'll probably do something with short sleeves though.

DS wore light cotton pants, a short sleeve onsie and a light cotton zip up hoodie. With the AC on in the hospital and in the car he was fine.

Re: Summer Mommies

DD was born in late June in a heatwave . The day we came home it was literally 90 degrees and humid.
I had her in a printed onesie, booties and a matching cotton hat.
The nurse commented she was glad I didn't overdress her as it was so hot out. She said people tend to do that, but newborns have a hard time regulating their body temps so overdressing is not good.
We had the AC on in the car, but on low.
I had a light cotton blanket to throw over the car seat.

Re: Summer Mommies

DS was born in August & we brought him home in cotton footie pajamas with a light long sleeved button down over it & covered him with a blanket. It was warm out but not super hot, plus the car had AC. At home he was practically naked because we're not big on AC.

Yes, everything will have AC and they are light cotton, so they regulate well.

DS was end of July, I put him in a Carters onesie and draped a blanket over the carrier. It was about 99 degrees out and I think even the blanket was too much. DS was also a hot box, he easily sweats.

Rule of thumb with clothing and temperature is - If you're comfortable, the baby will be comfortable

dd1 was born end of july, we had the AC on so she wore a short sleeve onesie and a long sleeve footie pajama over it with a beanie cap.

Re: Summer Mommies

August mommy and he wore a long sleeve footie outfit. I always kept him in long sleeve as a baby. The baby isn't outside that long and ac is chilly

DD wore a cotton coverall. It was super soft and light. She wore a hat and those newborn mittens.
I thought it was pretty appropriate. Thinking the AC would be on high in the car and the house. She was only outside (and in the shade) for 30 seconds before DH came around with the car.

Re: Summer Mommies

My girls were born august and June.
Both girls wore home short sleeve dresses and little socks and both wore hats. I took a light weight sweater to wear home but it was too warm. I just put a light weight blanket for the car ride home because of the ac.

Dhort sleeve onesie, matching pants and long sleeve button up shirt that matched. She was born end of August and it was chilly the day we left the hospital. It was perfect.
