I saw Lorde last night.

Has anyone else seen her in concert?

Lorde was INCREDIBLE. She is in my top ten of live performers. I've been to hundreds of concerts in my life...at last estimate, I think I'm near the 700 show mark. I've seen a lot of acts over the years and have pretty high standards when I am really wowed by a show.

She sounds very much like her album...her stage show is really on-point without being a spectacle (ie., the focus is on the music, not all sorts of random shit going on onstage)...interaction with the audience is really sweet. She's clearly very grateful for where she is as a performer. Her voice is just amazing in concert...she really knows how to use it without overdoing it.

The audience was SUCH a mix...there were couples there in their 50's, teenagers, parents with ten-year-olds, couples like DH and I. It just goes to show that her music reaches a HUGE demographic.

I'm so interested to see what else she releases within the next few years.
