Orlando Timeshares

My parents own a timeshare through RCI and we are planning to go to Orlando next summer for a week...we are looking for at least a 2 bedroom, maybe 3 since we are 7 people. Any suggestions as to a great timeshare resort? We are considering Orange Lake (if so, which village), Sheraton Vistana, or Summer Bay (the pictures look really fun!)...if we can get the Wyndham Bonnet Creek we are considering that too. We aren't interested in staying in a Disney hotel, as we have these weeks to use so it won't cost us anything and we are staying for 2 weeks (an additional week over at the beach as well).

Re: Orlando Timeshares

We own at Orange Lake and we love it!!! We always stay in the West Village in the golf villas. It's the oldest section but we love the villas and the golf course right in our back yard. They offer three bedroom units in the West Village, but I believe only in the tennis court buildings, which are extremely close to the pool and main building. They also offer them in the North Village, which has a smaller pool with a kiddie pool and sprinkler area. I'm not sure if the East Village or River Island offer 3 bedroom. We stayed in the East once and didn't really like the location much. But they do have a sports bar there that's pretty good. We actually aren't that interested in staying in River Island because we feel like it would be noisy. Obviously the perk is you are right at the largest pool area.
My BIL stayed at Summer Bay three years ago and we visited and spent time there (it's right up the street from Orange Lake). I loved the kid pool area. My son had a blast there. And their other pool areas were nice and well maintained. We had lunch at the pool bar and it was good. I liked that they had more kids activities then Orange Lake. But I wasn't impressed with the units. They just weren't as updated as I'm used to.
We will be staying at Sheraton Vistana Resort in June. My friend has been and really liked it. She has also stayed at Sheraton Vistana Villages and preferred it because of the pirate ship pool, but it wasn't available for our trip.

We own Wyndham and have stayed at Bonnet Creek. It is really nice. I loved having the shuttle to the parks!

Re: Orlando Timeshares

We've stayed at both Orange Lake (West Village) and Summer Bay and both were great! Orange Lake was huge, lots to do. I stayed at Summer Bay before kids and it was probably 8 years ago, but I don't think you can go wrong with either!!

Honestly, you will be happy at any of them. If you like a big resort with lots of options I would stay at Orange Lake. If you like something smaller, but still with good amenities, then go with Summer Bay. I haven't been to Vistana yet, so I'm not sure where it falls in terms of big or small.

Love Orange lake. Our cousins have a TS there and we went with them in Nov. We were near the Tennis courts. We had a car so we would go to all the different pools and restaurants. We actually are thinking about buying one cause we liked it so much.

Tons to do there. you wouldnt have to leave if you didn't want to.

We had a 2 bedroom. 2 baths and the couch pulled out. Plenty of room. They do have soem 3 bed units

If you are really interested in buying, I suggest trying to buy a resale, you will get a much better deal then what they're offering.

DH and I stayed at Wyndham Cypress Palms for a few nights last year and it was very nice. Not too far from all the parks either.

We just came back from Orange Lake and we purchased there!! So excited!! We love it there we got a foreclosure in the West village. That is the older one..but I like thise units better than the high risers. More privacy and no going upstairs. Chat Icon We are so excited and have the RCI points. My parents have owned there for over 20 years. Chat Icon
