Has anyone experienced this with their LO

Preface by saying we have a dr apt next week, but I am getting concerned and wondering if anyone will know what I am talking about.

My son is 5 months. He has severe silent reflux and on prevacid. He also has laryngomalacia with is a floppy larynx that causes stridor and sometimes breathing difficulties (although his ent is not concerned and says he will grow out of it by 18m)

Anyway, every once in a while just as I lie him down to sleep, he will fall asleep and then jolt up almost like when you get the chills. He usually jolts quickly and it makes him change what side of bis head he is sleeping on (hes a belly sleeper as per dr b/c of the laryngomalacia). It happens like every 30 seconds and can last from 1 min to 10 mins. I am nervous they may be seizures but unsure because it is never when he is awake and only at the very beginning of his sleep. Any ideas what this could be?

dd is 17 months now and can jolt like that but it never lasts. It's kinda like she jerks her body but never does it more than once and never lasts more than a second.

kinda like when you jump in your sleep. It's happened to me too.

I would most certainly have him checked out. lasting more than a few seconds would scare me to much.

Can you video tape it? That way when you go to your dr appt. next week you can show him and not just explain it to him.

If you're worried they are seizures, you should see a neurologist. I'm sure it's nothing, but always better to err on the side of caution, IMO.
