recommend a toy for baby recovering from surgery 7 -8 months old

With my first, he needed hypospadias surgery and we bought some toys to cheer him up and 'distract' him after.

My second needs surgery too now but his situation is more serious and the recovery will be tougher. He is spoiled with all his brother;s toys but want to get him something new for post surgery.

please name your favorite toys, puzzles and books for this age range - he should be around 7-8 months when we do this!!

thank you!!

At that age, dd loved the baby Einstein discovery drums and the FP kick n play piano (used her hands with it too). She also loved any lift the flap books. The FP little people books have tons of flaps in them. She also liked the Lamaze fishbowl.

Best of luck and speedy recovery.

my DS had major surgery at 6 months old and had a 6 week recovery time that was pretty tough. we brought all of his "favorites" to the hospital....this included My Pal Scout, one of those lamaze toys and a bunch of his books. my son's surgery was on his head so it was critical that he not fall or bump his head after so we bought him an exersaucer and he hung out in there on and off during the day. he also loved the FP kick and play piano.

if you ever need to talk, please FM me any time. i know how overwhelming it can all be! best of luck.

I think it depends on the kind of surgery.

My son had major surgery on his skull at 6mo.

When we got home, the exersaucer and jumperoo were two of the favorite toys bc they kept him upright.

In the hospital, his eyes were swollen shut so we brought toys that he would recognize by feeling them.

We also bought the fisher price laugh and learn farm as a special toy for him. Link

Sorry u have to go through this. :(
