Daycare bday parties

DD will be two this year and will be in daycare on her birthday. I plan to make up goody bags for the kids in her class. I'm going to talk to the director on what's allowed food wise, but I am pretty sure they do have a little party. What did you put in the goody bags?

I did goldfish and fat crayola crayons for DS 1's 2nd b-day. I didn't do anything for DS 2 - people don't seem to be doing it anymore at our daycare.

I didn't do goody bags for 1 year but did for his 2nd. And I have to say its def not a necessity. I have found only a few moms do them. I probably won't do them again.

I made cupcakes for his - 2year old ones were minion cupcakes and so I had minion bags with minion things in them.

The daycare I use encourages a "class gift". They have very strict policies regarding outside food due to allergies - so bringing snacks isn't really allowed. I like the idea - because it's something the class and future classes can enjoy instead of something that will be tossed. I imagine as the kids get older - the idea will become less fun for them - but for now - a large push toy or something like that was great for 1 and I was thinking maybe a sand table or something like that for age 2. (Of course - we usually get a recommendation or at least and OK from the teachers and the director.) The cost comes out to about the same as if I baked something special or got goodie bags for everyone.
