Dutch Wonderland, can this be a day trip?
Just was wondering if anyone has done Dutch Wonderland as a day trip? Or is it too far of a drive to do in one day? TIA.

It can be...I did it once and it was the longest day ever. I would never do it again!

We just came back from there. We left at 630am and got there around 11. We went to DW and stayed until about 430. We were staying for a few days and went to the hotel. If we weren't already staying, we could have driven back after we ate.
On the way back home, we stopped at Sesame Place. We got there around 11 and left around 5 and drove home. Again, we could have done it all in one day.
My DS is very good in the car.

It took us over 2 1/2 hrs from Rockland so it was a little too long IMO for a day trip.
You can do the park in a day though.

Thanks all, was looking to save costs by avoiding a hotel. If this was not possible as a day trip I was also looking at Philly's Please touch museum, but not sure if it was the appropriate age for my DS (he is almost 2).

It's really pretty far, I would at least do an overnight. It's too much driving in one day on top of being in the park for hours.

The Please Touch Museum is AWESOME!!! We took our DD around that age and she absolutely LOVED it. There are so many fun things to do!! I HIGHLY recommend it.
DW is really cute too, we enjoyed it but we LOVED the PT Museum.

I wouldn't recommend it, but it CAN be done.

It takes us 4 hours without a lick of traffic, so I would never do it in a day!

I'm going here overnight with my nieces next month. Also, the water park and the good and plenty restaurant. Love that area :)

We did sesame as a day trip last week and it was a very long day but totally doable. We left around 5:15 bc we were picking up friends nearby and did the character breakfast at 8:45. That gets you into the park a little earlier and we were able to do a bunch of dry rides. Once we got too hot we hit the water. We parked next to the shaded picnic area so we brought lunch and ate out there and then DD napped in the stroller for a while. We went back in for the afternoon for more dry rides and then more water stuff, got cleaned up and changed and sat down around 6:30 for the parade. So we basically open and closed the park and then grabbed a quick dinner nearby before heading home. We would have been home by 11 if it weren't for crazy storms and me not being able to read my directions! We all had a blast.

You CAN do it. There isn't a snowball's chance in hell that I would do it as a day trip.
