Those who have had or are having their 2nd baby...
This is a stupid post  but this time around it is just hitting me that I am having another child. With my son I was so mentally prepared, like clueless on how to parent obviously but my mind was ready to have a baby in my arms...this time it is like, not real or something...
anyone have this with #2?

I'm pregnant with twins this time. I can't even begin to tell you how NOT mentally prepared I am for this go-around.

Yes! I was just thinking about how calm I was, even on the way to the hospital, with my first. This time it feels like I'm in a panic daily about this baby coming.

Yes then it's a whirlwind and so different than having 1 lmao. Te beginning was like ok I got this. Dd2 was more easy going and slept in the car seat and dealt with goig in and out for dd1. And it was easy. Then she became mobile and I was thrown for a loop. Lol. Greeting to mobile little people ready was and still is hard lmao. Dd1 is 4 and dd2 is 15 months. One puts on shoes then other takes hers off. Dd1 is obnoxious and fights me on everything :), haha she's 4, so getting her ready is a nightmare. We went to swimming this morning and b/c she wouldn't get ready we were late but best of all b/c I was yelling at her we forgot her towel, undies and googles. Lmao. So we left swimming camando and wet lmao. Dd2 has her own agenda on how her day should go. Lol.
I guess I was not prepared for the aftermath of number 2. Lol

Me!! I guess because I was so busy with work and a 2 year old that it didn't really hit me until I went into labor.

I think you're so busy with your other DC that you just don't have time to actually think about the 2nd pregnancy.
I remember thinking how fast my pregnancy was flying with my second. With my first it felt like I was pregnant forever when in reality I just couldn't wait any longer.
I also think there is less preparing for a 2nd child especially if your oldest is a few years older. You more than likely are reusing most items from your first child, you know what to NOT waste your money on etc, etc.

I'm completely not prepared....and I have only 8 weeks left. Ad
Me after yesterday's dr appt...could be as few as 3! Guess I better get myself in gear. Need to get DS's room ready to share with the baby eventually. And need to pull out baby clothes.
Chasing a 20 month old around doesn't leave much time for thinking about number 2!

That's how I felt the second time around. I really didn't believe I was even pregnant!! It just didn't feel real. Even today my DD is almost 7 weeks and I still can't believe I have 2!

This time around I was dreading the midnight feedings bc I KNEW how it was going to be! The first time around I had no idea what to expect!

I felt this way with #2 and now with #3 I feel even less prepared. I have had zero time to really think about it and just started to feel like I need to get my act together. I have nothing done and honestly I'm not even sure where to begin this time. I have had so much else going that I haven't really been focused on this baby. I'm due in about 9 weeks

Yes I felt the same way. Ds is 7 weeks and the entire pregnancy I freaked out. With my first I felt like ok I can handle it. This time around all I could do is wonder how the heck in going to manage. Ds is 7 weeks old and I still sit there during the middle of the night feedings thinking how I'm going to pass the time during the day with the 2 at home lol
