For those who don't give their lo milk, cheese, etc

How do they get their calcium?
I'm choosing not to give my lo milk, cheese, yogurt anyone else? Any issues you've come across?

We are vegetarian, but milk constipates my DD and my DS is allergic to eggs (and tree nuts/peanuts) so I've been researching food/nutrition.

DD used to drink soymilk but we're trying to switch her to almond. She's not happy about it and really drinks very little so I do have concerns lately about how much calcium she gets. We do give lots of yogurt so that's her biggest source and she also has cheese occasionally. I'm hoping she'll eventually come around with the almond milk. She will have it in cereal or smoothies. I also add spinach and chia seeds to her smoothies so those are also sources of calcium. She has nutrigrain waffles which I think have 25%dv also. You could do almond butter too.

Did you find one with a decent amount of calcium? I'd prefer to buy that bc I'm not a fan of almond milk for myself but the ones I saw only had I think 10% DV of cacium.

We do not eat meat or dairy. I am not a fan of store bought nut or soy milk. I make my own nut milk. Our main source of calcium comes from dark leafy greens.

My dd is only 7 months old. She has only been on solids for 3 months :) so i have not had to deal with that yet. But I was raised like that and the kids I nannied for seven years were raised the same way. I guess when that's all they know it's easier. I would do blueberry, pineapple, spinach and kale smoothies and freeze them into ice pops for the little boy. You can add a ton of spinach but not to much kale since it has a strong taste. We called them slimer pops. He liked ghostbusters. I also took them to the farmers market we would try to search for things we never had before it became a treasure hunt. Sweet potato greens turned out to be a regular favorite during the season.
