Is Universal in Orlando toddler friendly?

My parents are visiting us this week in FL and want to take my son to Universal. It's very nice of them but, my husband thinks it;s not good for kids. I don't know why he thinks this.

My son is 2.5 years old. They would have taken him to Disney but, we are taking him in October for the first time for his 3 year old birthday, so we preferred him to go with us his first time to Disney.

There are two parks. I don't know about the "original" but I went to the Islands of Adventure with DH this past Nov and there was a LOT for little kids to do, it was very family friendly IMO.

ETA: How about Sea World? That's great for little kids too

Islands of adventure is awesome for toddlers. They have a whole dr Seuss land and cartoon land. They also have a kid ride in Harry potter world.

Universal maybe not so much.

Universal doesn't have a whole lot but I agree with the Dr. Suess Land. We went when DD was 3 and DS was 2 and they loved it! We actually did the combo tickets and we went to both parks. Between the two he can have fun. There was also the Shrek Ride and Barney show.

The Suess area is cute, but at 2.5, I don't know that your child would meet the height requirements for the rides. I would go on the website and see what he can go on.

I agree with looking at height requirements.
IMO, it's not worth it.

Are you close to Tampa? Does he like animals? If so, I would go to Busch Gardens and then to Adventure Island Water Park.
