Cruise
We are leaving on our first cruise in a week. I'm getting excited but nervous. I've been told we can bring wine on board. How do we manage that if we are flying first? How much does wifi cost? Do we need to purchase as beverage package even for soda & juice?

When we recently cruised, we flew down to FL the night before the cruise left and bought wine there. Otherwise, you have to put it in your luggage, (if you wrap it up good it won't break, but it takes up a lot of weight).
We didn't do the beverage package - didn't seem worth it to us, when you consider the days you will be off the ship

Re: Cruise
What cruise line bc the rules change by line.
I think you need to look at prices -some packages are worth it -others not. It depends on your personal preferences too. I have done non alcoholic ones on celebrity bc between coffee drinks, bottled cold water, sodas and juice. It paid for itself. Alcoholic ones don't work for us. We pay for the one or two alcoholic drinks per day we consume.

Re: Cruise
We are going ton RC - liberty of the seas. I'm thinking the soda one might be good for us. My DH thinks the alcohol ones will be a waste. We will probably drink a bit but not everyday.

Re: Cruise
Also I feel like we have to pack a ton of clothes! We have 2 formal nights and then from what I've read online we need smart casual for dinner the other nights. Then clothes for during the day.

Also I feel like we have to pack a ton of clothes! We have 2 formal nights and then from what I've read online we need smart casual for dinner the other nights. Then clothes for during the day.
Bring 1 pair of black pants and just reuse them for the smart casual nights. For us, we're in dinner clothes for 2 hours a night, only during dinner. Most of the time we're in bathing suits or shorts/tshirts - then we put on dinner clothes (black pants and dressy shirt) and then immediately after dinner we go back to shorts/tshirts or back into the hot tub. So for us its not worth bringing 7 pairs of dinner pants, 7 dinner shirts, 7 t-shirts, 7 bathing suits, 7 shorts, etc.
We're not very particular about it so it works for us. We're not the people that get grossed out wearing things over again without a wash, as long as its not dirty. You change so many times in a day, you're only wearing things for an hour to two, besides your bathing suit.
ETA: And even formal nights aren't really formal anymore. You could probably count on 2 hands the number of people that do the real formal thing. (Especially if you are doing MyTime Dining - which if you haven't signed up for, do it!) I wore said pair of black pants all 7 nights, just paired 'dressier' shirts on dressier nights.
And of course we only bring 1 pair of dress shoes, something that matches those items. For our first cruise, we had 3 huge pieces of luggage. Came home and realized we didn't wear or use half of it. Not worth the struggle of carrying all of that stuff for no reason...

I was on that ship, it was fun. You can watch the Flowrider on the TV in your room.
For us, soda package is worth it. I think it works out if you drink 2 or 3 sodas a day then you break even. The alcohol package wasn't the same, it was a lot of money to break even so we never did it.

You can have a different dining time each night. Just make your reservation the night before, or that morning. (the earlier you make the reservation the better). Or, you can not make a reservation and just walk up, but you would go behind everyone else that already has reservations.
If you don't do MyTime dining you'll be either put into the early or late seating. We also prefer MyTime dining because we want a table for 2, and not to be sat with other people.
If you choose MyTime dining, they charge your tips immediately, instead of letting you do it later on. There are limited MyTime slots, so if you want to switch you can call the 1800 number or you might be able to switch online when you do check-in.

Cozumel we were supposed to go on the Turtle snorkel excursion. But the night before my husband got stung by a bee on his hand, and since he's allergic it blew up huge. So we passed on the excursion and stayed on the ship. We were happy that RC refunded the money for the excursion, considering we cancelled at the late minute. Then again, I did get a 600 dollar bill from the medical facility instead.
Sorry, no help on that one.

Oh no that's terrible. I'm allergic also and freak out if they come within 10 feet of me. My cousin is the one planning it & there are 22 of us going on this cruise. I feel like I'm in the dark about this trip. I don't need everything planned but I'd like to know what is going on. lol. How was the food? Is it very crowded?

Re: Cruise
Cozumel is my favorite port. There is a fat Tuesdays bar right on the dock which is a lot of fun. We took a ferry to playa del Carmen and did a jeep tour. It was fantastic. We stopped at caves and swam in them, drove all around and then stopped at a gorgeous beach for a delicious Mexican buffet and relaxation. The water was gorgeous.

The food was good. It's not gourmet, but it's also not the horrible Olive Garden quality they serve on other lines. There is a good variety of options for all meals.
Liberty is a nice ship, one of their biggest besides the Oasis line. That's nice because when everyone is just doing their thing you're mostly spread out. But, during high traffic times it can be trying. Unless you're at the pool early, you're probably not going to get a chair right at the edge. Expect a zoo if you're trying to go get breakfast buffet in the hour leading up the ship docking at a port. Same thing when the ship is leaving a port, everyone gets back on and runs to food.
