Is anyone else haunted by this story of the car crashing into the daycare in Orlando?
I can't stop thinking about this. An article popped up on my newsfeed today about the 4 year old girl who was killed. I want to vomit.
I couldn't stop thinking about it this morning when dropping DD off at school.
What a freak, tragic accident. All caused by yet another reckless driver. People drive like assholes more and more lately with no regard for anyone but themselves. It's like a sickness this need to drive fast and reckless. Like a mental illness.
And this story is just haunting me now.

Yes. So upsetting.
Reminds me of the Oklahoma City bombing with the daycare in the building. Just beyond horrific

I just saw this in an article on cnn. I immed started crying...
Lily's mother, Nicole Quintus, called her daughter "painfully beautiful" and told the New York Daily News, "She was incredible and she deserved so much more." "I have no idea how I'm supposed to survive after this. I don't know how I'm supposed to go back to a daily routine. I'm wandering about, lost," she told the paper.
Lily's 7-year-old brother aspires to be an engineer and is building a time machine out of his Erector set so he can bring his sister back, the Daily News reported.

I can't. Seriously I can't even wrap my brain around it so I have to stop myself from thinking about it. I really hope the POS who caused this accident is severely punished and tortured in some way.

I was crying in the car yesterday hearing the mother's interview. So incredibly sad.

I cannot even imagine what the mother is going through. I actually know someone whose daughter was there. Thankfully she is ok but I cannot imagine what my friend was going through until she was able to get to her daughter and know that she was ok.

this really makes me think... at my kids daycare, there are classrooms 7 feet from where cars park head on ... huge glass windows. Perhaps they should consider installing those cement pillars
I'll bring this up! Its not unheard of for someone to think they are in reverse and hit the gas while they are in drive! I've seen it, I've been involved in that exact incident while working at a CVS when I was 18.

It's heartbreaking! I feel so sad for the little girls parents and brother. I couldn't stop crying after reading what the brother said.
My dd school has classrooms right on top of the parking lot and people always let there kids run around on the side walk. I'm always afraid of a car jumping the curb hitting a kid or going directly into the classrooms. They really should put in some type of divider.

Re: Is anyone else haunted by this story of the car crashing into the daycare in Orlando?
And you know what else I keep thinking of? That poor person who was hit from behind by this asshole at such a high rate of speed that they were pushed into the building. The news said the person was PHYSICALLY unhurt. And I keep focusing on the physically part. Because can you imagine your mental state after that? Knowing that a 4 year old died? And it was your car that crashed through? Even though logically you know it's 100% not your fault- but can you imagine living through that? My God.

I cannot imagine having to talk about my child in the past tense. "She was incredible..."
When I read about this yesterday my eyes immediately filled with tears and I couldn't stop thinking about it b/c like the OP said, it was such a freak thing, it could happen to anyone. And having a child that age myself just hits way too close to home. That poor woman and her family.
