Is there such a thing as hanging too many pictures of your own kid in your house?
If there is I think we may be approaching the limit. We have a small house so we don't have too many places to hang pictures. We have a LOT of pictures hung in our living room. If you walked into someone's house and saw dozens of framed pics of their kid (some with family and friends), would you find that over the top?
I want to extend a small cluster near our front door up the stairway wall but I don't know if that's too much (the wall is open to the living room).

I feel your pain. My house is a shrine to dd. I think as long as everything flows you should be good. When things start to look too cluttered I start swapping out photos.

If it makes you happy, then it's not over the top!
It would be over the top for me considering I have exactly one picture of each of my kids displayed...my girls' school pictures and then one of my son at 7 months old...now he's three!

We have limited wall space as well. I have collage frames in our living room and then in the kitchen, it's an entire wall filled with a variety of frames - pictures of our DD, our dog, DH, myself, us together, grandparents, friends, etc.
If you are happy, then that is all that matters.
I do replace the photos in some of the frames periodically to show off.

Who cares what other people think! It's your house, and if that's what makes you happy, then I say go for it! Wallpaper the walls with DD's photos if you want!

Its a personal preference. I am not a fan of having a ton of pictures of anyone in my house so we don't have more than a few.
But when I go to friends houses that have a lot I don't think anything of it.
Do what you want.

Re: Is there such a thing as hanging too many pictures of your own kid in your house?
I think it depends on how it is arranged. I'll be honest, a room with 50 pictures of DS (or anything else) on the wall would probably creep me out, but a few on the walls, and a bunch more framed on surfaces wouldnt bother me. I also think you can get away with more in one spot if they are smaller and on a table v. on a wall.
We have a collage of frames in our upstairs hallway, maybe 20 - 25 frames. They are all family photos, either individual shots of DS, DS/DH, DS/me, the 3 of us, and a wedding pic of me/DH. It's nicely arranged and I think it looks intentional, plus its a very large area. I think it also helps add variety that they span a period of time -- a few newborn pix, etc.
Its your house, its expected

Re: Is there such a thing as hanging too many pictures of your own kid in your house?
I have a ridiculous amount of pictures but for some reason, nothing framed! DD is 8 months. We moved into our home in December and just ordered some furniture, and then I will start to organize and frame things. (Maybe; been married for 2 1/2 yrs and still no wedding photos framed! Ok, wow. I need to get my butt in gear).
I think there needs to be a balance and I agree with a pp poster to start swapping out photos to make room for the newer ones.

Thanks. I'm not saying other people's opinions would stop me, I just want to know if others are likely to think I'm nuts!
It's really about a dozen on one wall right now which I'd like to rearrange, change out, and extend up the stairwell. Other than that we have two collage frames on another wall and just a few in other areas of the house. We'll see, if I have DH put a bunch of holes in the wall there's no going back so I want to think it through.

Re: Is there such a thing as hanging too many pictures of your own kid in your house?
Oh boy! I only have 1 framed picture of DD and that was from her first week of life! I also have a monthly collage from her first year in her nursery but its kind of hidden behind toys. But we don't display many photos at all. My best friend has no room on her walls, it is literally frame after frame after frame. And honestly, at first I was a little overwhelmed by it- but now i don't even think anything of it. It actually seems more cozy and personal and actually makes me think our house feels very cold and impersonal.
