Do I need a new breast pump?

I have a breast pump that is going to be 3 years old when DS arrives. Do I /Should I get a new one? If i don't need a new one what are the pieces that i do need to buy new.

If it still works then use it. I would just sterile the parts if they are still in good condition. I think you can buy tubes & flanges on amazon or thru the pump manufacture

If it's an open system like Medela I would just open the motor and check the inside for mold. If not you are good to go

My kids are 3.5 years apart. I used the same pump (Medela PISA), but changed the tubing, flanges and bottles.

I used my pump for all three of my children
(for a year each) and my SIL borrowed it for another year and a half! So yes, I would say you are def ok to use it as long as it looks and sounds like it works fine! I just replaced some of the accessories

Your insurance should cover the cost of a new one. Maybe you can take advantage of it and use your old one as a back up.

Your insurance should cover a new one. Why not just take advantage of that? IMO, I wouldn't risk using one that's 3 years old. Babies are so sensitive and if there is any old bacteria, it could make the baby sick.
