Starting table foods?

What did you first give? How did you prepare it? Dd will be 9 months on Friday and I'm clueless. Drs office isn't giving much guidance other than small pieces and soft.. Ummmm thanks for that tip.

Bananas, avocados, puffs, mum mums, soft cooked veggies cut small, meatballs/meatloaf, tender meats- meats cooked in soups or stews are great, pot roast, rotisserie/shredded chicken, etc, soft pieces of cheese cut small, pasta cut up, scrambled eggs Etc. Anything soft and cut small, really.

Starting table foods?

For me i was most concerned with what shw could actually break down because she had no teeth when they said she could start table food. So i did what i felt comfortable with her gumming.

Steamed veggies cut small
Baked sweet potatoes or sweet potatoe fries (no skin)
Avocado
Kiwi

My dd didnt really take to table food until she got her back teeth. I still gave her purees. Shes now 20 months and loves food. It didnt make a difference when she actually liked eating it. It didnt matter that i didnt start at 9 months because she wasnt ready so also follow your childs cues. dont get nervous if they dont initially love it. They will eventually.

And try anything. The only thing i held off based on my peds recs and my comfort level was high allergen foods.

Exactly!

Anything you can mash between 2 fingers or with the back of a fork.

You can do meatballs, very ripe fruit, steamed veggies, baked chicken... the possibilities are endless!

Just give small pieces of whatever you're eating. I couldn't even tell you what the first table foods were that we gave DS because it was just so natural. We'd give him whatever we were eating that was soft. Don't overthink it.
