toddler snot question.:)

I could really use your help please. my son was tested for allergies at dr strauss. all neg. which is good.

but he is an eczema prone kid. always runny nose. goopy eyes. red cheeked monkey boy.

the docs put him on nasonex and also zyrtec to control some hives he was having. we do have a follow up soon.

but yuck not only is it gross but it makes me sad.

we also use saline spray , nose sucker, humidifier etc etc.

he has always been this way and his nickname is booger lmao

any tips or insights insto something I could be missing?

hi cate! I was wondering that too....wouldn't the allergy tests show dairy allergy though? or could it just be a sensitivity thing?

I'd think it's a sensitivity. Have you ever read What's Eating Your Child by Kelly Dorfman? It's an interesting read!

Miss you love!

I agree. Cutting out milk helped DD's eczema and congestion a lot. She still eats cheese and yogurt, etc. She drinks either almond milk or coconut almond blend. And she's not allergic dairy, she's been tested, there are so many levels of food sensitivity due to how over processed our food is now.

my kids drink almond milk and they eat regular cow's cheese every couple of days. we dont really have a sensitivity but like the pp said, most dairy is so overprocessed. if he is going to drink almond milk, you may need to make sure he gets healthy fats in other ways (avocado, coconut oil, etc). same goes with coconut milk, he'd need to get some more protein.

Try almond or coconut... i give ny dd almond. She has a dairy sensitivity. No snots or hives but would get diarrhea and a very dry peely scalp... cut out milk but was able to keep yogurt and cheese at limited amounts.

My DS has a lactose issue so he drinks soy milk. He is ok with reg yogurt and cheese. The cheese we do in limited amounts.

My DS almost always has a runny nose. My DH was and still is the same way. I have taught my DS to blow his nose on his own which has helped.
