HELP did anyone do CIO with a binky lover?
My son was literally addicted to his paci for naps and bedtime. At night he would wake 2 or 3 times for his paci and just go right back to sleep.
I decided to cry it out and see what would happen without paci. We are about 10 days in. Now at night he usually will cry for 10 mins to fall asleep. If he wakes in the night he puts himself back down.
Naps are a whole other issue though. He refuses to go down and fights it... Even when he is exhausted.
I went from having a happy baby who napped and never cried to an over tired crying machine.
Im ready to give up and give him back hos paci. Any words of advice?

DONT GIVE IT BACK!! lol you are doing so good & the fact that he can put himself back to sleep in the middle of the night is awesome!!!
how old is he? i would just let him cry it out for naps too... he'll eventually get it & stop fighting it. as long as he is still in a crib & cant escape he will eventually give in if he is really tired!!

He is 5 months old. Im worrying i did this too early! Thank you for the support - i really need it. About to break!!!

i would let him cry for naps & see what happens... if he is able to get to sleep for the night without it naps shouldnt be an issue after he gets the hint that he's not getting the binky
my son was 2 1/2 when we took away his binky so i feel your pain x100

He is so young, throw them out! Both of my kids gave them up before 6 months, I slowly took it away. By 6 months they forgot all about it

Im praying he forgets. He is 10+ days in and he still sucks air sometimes when looking for his binky. Naps are a nightmare!!

yes, we did CIO with both kids who are/were paci addicts.
I just tossed 4-5 pacis in the crib and both kids found them immediately and were able to put them back in their mouths.
We did CIO at 5-6 months.

my son was not finding his so I had to take it away -- my ped said it would be too confusing to give it during the day and not at night :(
