Marriott in Washington DC
Anyone know of a Marriott in a safe area and not too expensive in or very close to DC? We want to stay at a Marriott when we visit DC because we know someone that can get us a discount but we don't know which one to stay at (and she is uncertain too.)

Marriott Crystal City - I have stayed there twice. It is beautiful.
I like it because it is JUST outside DC so very reasonably priced BUT they have a metro stop RIGHT IN THE HOTEL. So, you can just hop on and be in the heart of it all in like 15 minutes. It was awesome.
They also have a great indoor/outdoor pool and very good restaurant options.
Crystal City was like a little business-district so I felt VERY safe there.

In December, I stayed at the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott. It was on H Street (Chinatown area). No complaints. Hotel was very nice. Clean, friendly. Walked to/from the metro at night too.
