I think you're the best people to ask this question. My MIL is looking to throw my FSIL a bridal shower but is not sure a good place to host it.
It will be a jack and jill shower, we're thinking about 40 people and her budget is around $35 with tax and tip. We hope to have the shower in July. I'm not sure if that is possible. We're hoping for Suffolk. I'm not familiar with LI (queens gal) so would you be able to tell me where you had your shower and if you know how much it was per head and what was included?
It would be a huge plus if the venue has a terrace/ back yard area where people can walk and mingle.

maybe try a backyard shower vs at a place?

I had my baby shower at mims in syosset. Great food and I believe it is in your price range. You have the whole place to yourselves which I really liked.

I'd go to local restaurants that aren't too busy and ask if they can make a menu for a large group for $30 pp.
We did this locally & found a restaurant at a local golf course with patio. They went out of business a year later, but they threw a nice party.

nycgirl - thanks that what I'm telling her to do so I jumped on the board to see if there were any recommendations. I had my baby shower at a local restaurant in brooklyn. I would love to support a small business owner

Snapper Inn, The View, Fatfish--all south shore Suffolk near the water. May be more like $32-34pp without tax etc though.

We just had a party at snapper inn- it was 35 pp incl tax and tip for lunch. But this did not include any alcohol.

Mill pond in centerport is $35pp. Jonathan's in huntington is $30pp.
My favorite is the britana yacht club in northport. On the water. It's a $250 room rental charge and food starts at $18.95pp.

Villa avanzo in amityville off of merrick. I had my bridal shower and baby shower there. You could have it their within your budget. This was dinner and included beer and wine.

We're having my fsil shower at The Oar in patchogue. It's 28pp plus tax & gratuity. It's a cute room and the open the doors in the nice weather so you have a waterview.
